Nitro City has enjoyed a rocket-fueled ride to success, thanks to some interesting players in the world of extreme sports. If you’re a fan of Nitro Circus or the X-Games series, you already know Nitro City in some way. Nitro Circus partnered with MTV to create the super fun smash hit series that has aired in over 60 countries, and even took their act on the road, like any good circus would! Nitro Circus Live has performed for sold-out crowds all over the globe and shows no signs of slowing down. Billing themselves as an “action sports collective”, this fun-loving group of daredevils can be found on dirt bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, snowboards, and contraptions of all sorts. With this collective of extreme athletes gaining a name for themselves the world over, it seems only natural that they would be the ones to come up with the idea for something as fun and accessible as a resort where people can play like they’re one of the gang. After years on the road with Nitrus Circus and the X-games, Travis Pastrana and Hayes Wheelless came up with the idea of creating a place they could all practice and play their different extreme sports together and relax (or party) at the end of the day. Thus, with the backing of Nitro Circus and Walter Maduro, the base was laid for what is now Nitro City Resort. Land sports and water sports alike enjoy equal airtime in this Disneyland for X-games enthusiasts of all stripes. What do you like to do? Kite surfing, wakeboarding, skim boarding, SCUBA, inner tubing, paintball, Frisbee golf, beach golf, mountain biking, and 4-wheeling are just some of the things you can practice and play. Kite buggy? We don’t even know what the heck that is! Let’s do it!
Want to check out the action of your extreme sports heroes but not looking to participate in the action? If you just want to visit for a day instead of staying at the resort, you can purchase a Nitro City Day Pass… the only caveat is there is no transportation readily available to the property for people who have not rented a car and just want the day pass, so you’ll have to make your own way there. But we’re pretty sure that if you need to get your kite buggy on, wild horses won’t keep you away; it’s nothing that a little planning can’t take care of! It’s important to note though, if Nitro City is your destination upon arriving in Panama, airport transportation is available for you, so be sure to ask about that when you book your play-cation.
There is even a whole host of FREE activities you can partake in… a fitness gym, beach volleyball, ping pong, an arcade, pool, air hockey… the question is not where there IS to do, the question is what there ISN’T to do in this giant play paradise.
